Maxine Seberg, 94, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield, IA.Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2nd at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, July 3rd, at Finley Chapel with Pastors Jim Stiles and Jeff McPheron officiating. Interment will be in the Finley Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Finley Chapel Cemetery Association. On line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com.Born November 25, 1920, in Washington County, Maxine was the daughter of R. John and Anna Metzger Davis. She was a 1938 graduate of Olds High School. On February 1, 1942, she married Carl R. Seberg in Olds, IA. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2014. A devoted mother and farm wife, Maxine was a dedicated homemaker and supported her husband and children in their many activities. She was a member of Finley Chapel, an active member of the United Methodist Women, and played the piano for opening exercises during Sunday School. Maxine will long be remembered for her many solos during Sunday morning worship. She also enjoyed singing with her sisters at special times. For many years Maxine was an enthusiastic worker in the Finley Chapel food tent at Old Threshers. Known as having a supportive nature, Maxine was always willing to help others, and people felt very welcome in her home. Maxine is survived by three sons, Steve (Amy Cornwell) Seberg of Winnebago, IL, Rich (Jeanie) Seberg of Mt. Pleasant, IA, and Randy (Kathy) Seberg of Mt. Pleasant, IA; one daughter, Susie (Mark) Stalder of Mt. Pleasant, IA; one sister, Dorothy Graber of Mt. Pleasant, IA; and two brothers, Dean (Joyce) Davis of New London, IA, and Jerry (Sharon) Davis of Salem, IA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, fifteen step-great-grandchildren, and three step-great-great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, Maxine was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Lynn Seberg; two brothers, Ken Davis and Don Davis; two sisters, Arlene Kremer and June Hunter; and an infant great-grandson, Christian Seberg.
