Maurice Duane Hodges

Hillsboro - Maurice Hodges, 81 of Hillsboro, died Saturday, April 29, 2023, at his home.

Maurice was born March 15, 1942 in Alexander, Missouri, the son of Lewis and Eolleen Hodges. On December 23, 1962 he was united in marriage to Joyce Forbes at the Hillsboro Baptist Church. He lived in the Salem and Hillsboro communities all of his life. He worked for Goodyear, Army Ammunition Plant and ESB in Burlington. Maurice was a member of the Prairie Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing, John Deere Tractors and talking on his Ham Radio to people overseas.

Maurice is survived by a daughter Terri Hodges, son Mark Hodges both of Hillsboro, sister-in-law Dartha Forbes of Graham, Texas, brother-in-law Larry Forbes of New Hampshire, and several cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joyce, a brother Steve Hodges and a sister Betty Dunbar.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2023, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday. A memorial fund has been established for the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel is caring for Maurice and his family.
