WILLIAMSBURG- Mary A. Spratt was born on June 11, 1912, in Green Township, Iowa County, Iowa, the daughter of James J. and Catherine D. (Murphy) Spratt. She lived in the Parnell area until moving to Hillside Estates in 1964 and later moved to the Williamsburg Care Center in 2000. Mary died on Sunday, October 26, 2008, at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg, following a brief illness at the age of 96 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers: Harold (Bill) Spratt, Joe Spratt and John Spratt. Celebration of Life Service will be held on 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 28, 2008, at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Pastor Kirk Statler will officiate. Burial will in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Parnell. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 9:30 am until service time at the Uhmann-Powell Funeral Home. A general memorial fund has been established.
