Mary Miller was born January 16, 1920 in Marshall County near Napanee, Indiana the daughter of Levi S. and Sarah (Yoder) Schrock. She moved to Iowa in 1945 with her family. Mary accepted Christ in her youth and was a faithful member of the Old Order Amish Church. On December 28, 1950 she was united in marriage to Rudy Miller near Kalona, Iowa. Mary died on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at her home in rural Kalona from complications of age. She was 88 years, 10 months and 13 days old. Mary is survived by her husband Rudy of Kalona; 2 sons - Marlin Dale (Edith) Miller of Kalona; Evan Eugene Miller of Kalona; 7 grandchildren - Lamar, Nita, Sharon, Twila, Gareth, Lonnie, and Rhonda; 3 brothers - Olen (Mary) Schrock of Iowa City; Edwin (Fannie) Schrock of Burlington Junction, Missouri; Leo (Nedra) Schrock of Kalona; 3 sisters - Judith (Perry) Miller of Hutchinson, Kansas; Sylvia Ropp of Kalona; Alma (Daniel) Nisly of Kalona; and a sister-in-law Pauline Schrock of Kalona. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers - Perry and Elmer; and a brother-in-law Elmer Ropp. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the Rudy Miller Residence at 5665 Sharon Center Rd. S.W. in rural Kalona. Minister in charge is Milford Miller. Burial will be in the Peter Miller Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-9 p.m. on Sunday and from 9a.m. - 9 p.m. on Monday at the Rudy Miller residence. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona is in charge of the arrangements.
