Mary Mae Miller was born July 16, 1919 near Mount Hope, Ohio the daughter of Amos and Fannie (Yutzy) Garber. On March 19, 1942 she was united in marriage to Jesse O. Miller in Sugar Creek, Ohio. They lived in rural Wellman before moving to Kalona in 2003. Mary was a homemaker. She was a member of the Salem Mennonite Church. Mary died on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a brief illness at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 6 days. Mary is survived by 5 children - David Miller and wife Erma of Loogootee, Indiana; Betty Stutzman and husband Robert of Keota; Nancy Stutzman and husband David of Punta Gorda, Belize; Judy Stutzman and husband Daniel of Punta Gorda, Belize; Rose Bontrager and husband Jason of Bastrop, Texas; 31 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a stillborn son, a daughter Kathy in 1960, 3 grandchildren, a great grandchild, and 5 brothers - Dan, Leroy, Ura, Raymond, and Eli.
A memorial fund has been established for Caribbean Light and Truth.
