Mary Louise McCormick was born December 16, 1933 in rural Wayland, Iowa the daughter of Lyle and Lola Mae (Rich) Bower. She graduated from Wayland High School. On November 8, 1958 she was united in marriage to Donald L. McCormick in South Gate, California. They made there home in California where she worked for California Bank and later at Handmaids Home Services. They moved to Wellman in 2004. Mary was a member of the Shiloh Church. She enjoyed doing needle point and embroidery. Mary died suddenly on Tuesday, June 26, 2013 at Parkview Manor in Wellman at the age of 78 years. Mary is survived by her husband Donald L. McCormick of Wellman; two sons - Donald P. McCormick of Van Nuys, California; Phillip McCormick of Banff, Alberta Canada; a grandson - Donald Jay McCormick; a sister - Virginia Lindsay of Columbus, Georgia; and a brother - Jimmy Bower and wife Jacque of Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-in-law Jennifer McCormick and a sister Patricia Davison. A memorial service will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. The Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Wellman is in charge of the arrangements.
