Mary Lou (Overholt) Miller, age 62, of Millersburg, IN died on April 9, 2023, in Wellman, IA. Mary Lou was born February 2, 1961 in Perkasie, PA to Lester and Mary Emma (Rush) Overholt. She graduated from Christopher Dock Menn. H.S. located in Lansdale, PA and then Goshen College in Goshen, IN, in April 1983. Mary Lou was united in marriage to Sanford L. Miller on November 5, 1983 at Pleasantview Mennonite Church in Goshen, IN.
Before having children, she worked at Salem Bank and the Goshen College Health Center, and recently worked at the Benton Elementary School Kitchen. She was a member of Silverwood Mennonite Church, Goshen, IN and volunteered there in many different ways. When her children were born, Mary Lou was a “stay at home mom” and loved being involved in and attending all of her children’s activities, sports and events. For her, being a mom was the best job in the world and it surpassed all of her expectations. She was so thankful she had the opportunity to be at home when her children grew up.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Sanford Miller of Millersburg, IN; her two children, Kaela Miller and partner Joey Titus of Durham, NC and Isaac Miller and his partner Erin Hickle of Fort Wayne, IN; her two sisters, Lucy Eberly and husband Larry of Ocala, FL and Beverly Schloneger and husband Keith of Dundee, OH; her two brothers, Dave Overholt of Perkasie, PA and Dale Overholt and wife Cheryl of Souderton, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Mary Emma (Rush) Overholt.
A visitation will be held at Silverwood Mennonite Church in Goshen, IN on Tuesday, April 18, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, at 4:30 pm at the same location. Mary Lou was an angel on earth, the world’s greatest mama and wife and the most loyal, selfless friend. She will be fiercely missed by all those lucky enough to know her.
