Mary Lee Trier Runde

Keota- Mary Lee Trier Runde was born February 27, 1925, in Keota, Iowa the daughter of Walter and Margaret (Davies) Bower. Mary Lee graduated from Keota High School in 1943. On December 12, 1946, Mary Lee was united in marriage to Gail "Bud" Trier at St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota. Bud passed away in 1982. Then on September 7, 1991, she married Bernard G. Runde at St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish and the Altar and Rosary Society, where she served as an officer and chair committee for suppers. Mary Lee was a 4-H leader, Den Mother and Boy Scout leader. She passed away June 20, 2016 at the Keota Health Care Center at the age of 91 years.
Survivors include three children: Michael (Kathy) Trier of Unionville, Missouri; Charles (Carol) Trier of South English and Molly (Roger) Beinhart of Keota; three step children: Michael Runde of Florida; Pat (Ambrose) Mettille of Minnesota; and Cathy (Richard) Neusus of Dubuque; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and step daughter Sue.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Holy Trinity Parish - St. Mary Catholic Church in Keota, with Rev. Charles Fladung officiating. Burial will be at Keota Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Powell Funeral Home in Keota, where there will be a wake service and Rosary at 4:00 p.m.
