Mary L. Biwer

North English- Mary Lauretta Biwer, was born September 9, 1926, near Millersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Harlen & Effie (Grimm) McGuire. She graduated from Millersburg High School. On October 16, 1968, Mary was united in marriage to Joe Biwer in Mason City, Iowa. She enjoyed reading, watching pro wrestling, being outdoors and loved her dogs. Mary died on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids at the age of 88 years.

She is survived by a son Robert (Jackie) Biwer of Cedar Rapids; a daughter Lois (Wesley) Showman of South English; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents; husband; a son John Biwer; a sister Dorthea Wright; a brother Lloyd McGuire and a great granddaughter.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Powell Funeral Home & Cremation Service, North English. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, near Millersburg. Visitation will be on Friday from 1:00 PM until service time. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association in Mary's name.
