Mary Jane (Gingerich) Miller was born June 16, 1942, near Kalona, Iowa, the daughter of Freeman and Lydiann (Hochstetler) Gingerich. Upon her confession of faith, she was baptized in the Old Order Amish Church in her youth and remained faithful until death. She was united in marriage to Morris H. Miller on September 26, 1963. Mary Jane passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 2, 2012, at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 17 days. She is survived by her husband Morris, two sons and two daughters, Melva (Mrs Laban) Miller of Kalona, Milford and wife Karen of Riverside, Myrna (Mrs Herbert) Mast of Reedsville, WI, and Mervin at home, 23 grandchildren, a brother Samuel of Crofton, KY, two sisters Elizabeth (Mrs Marvin) Yoder of Crofton, KY, Katie (Mrs Solomon) Yoder of Kalona; three step sisters and a step brother. Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother Emery, a grandson Myron, and a step father Mose I. Miller. Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2012, at the Morris Miller residence at 1115 Kiwi Ave in rural Kalona. Minister in charge is Vernon Yoder. Burial will be in the Brenneman Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Miller residence and will continue all day on Thursday. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
