North English- Mary Jacquelyn Hansel was born February 26, 1918 in East River Township near Clarinda, Iowa. The daughter of John Elmer and Golden Emma (Hurst) Clowser. Jackie was united in marriage to Clifford Hansel in Missouri. She had worked at Berry Seed Company in Clarinda. The couple moved to California during WWII where she was employed in a day care. Following the war Jackie and Cliff moved near Boise and later lived in Meridian, Idaho for many years. She was a clerk at the Kernan Dime Store in Meridian and wrote the social and business news for the area towns for the Statesman and Meridian Times. Jackie moved to Iowa within the last year to the English Valley Care Center in North English. Jackie 's fortunate to not have had life cut short, but arduous the journey became. The love of God, family, and friends sustained her and made life's experiences worthwhile. She passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at the English Valley Care Center at the age of 94 years. She is survived by three children: Sherry (Frank) Hederer of Boise, Idaho, Ginger (Art) Johnson of Williamsburg, Iowa and Hal Hansel of Carson, Washington; seven grandchildren: Scott (Agi) Hederer of Newport News, Virginia, Paul (Nina) Hederer of Germany, Shaun (Dana) Johnson of Williamsburg, Iowa, Cody ( Laura) Johnson of Saginaw, Michigan, Vicki (Steve) Kuehn of Athens West Virginia, Cora (Auguste) Zettler of Williston, Florida and Ian Hansel of Cook, Washington and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister: Virginia Murren and two brothers: Willie and Star Clowser. Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Williamsburg.
