SIGOURNEY-Mary Margaret Hunnicutt, age 68, of Sigourney, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at the Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney. Mary was born June 14, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, to Durell and Nell (Andrew) Hunnicutt. She graduated from Sunset High School in Dallas and received her LVN from North Texas State University in Denton. Mary worked as a nurse in Mobile, Alabama several years before returning to Dallas in the late 1960's. She moved to Sigourney, Iowa in November of 2008. Mary had attended Orchard Hills Baptist Church in Garland, Texas and enjoyed cats, visiting with family and friends, shopping and her "grandchildren" Jacob, Jordan and Julia VanEe. Survivors include her son: Chris Hunnicutt of Sigourney. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. A memorial fund has been established for Mary's family. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Sigourney is caring for Mary and her family.
