Mary Catherine Calloway

Mary C. Calloway, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Arbor Court.Mary has donated her body to the University of Iowa Carver Medical Center Deeded Body Program. According to her wishes, there will be no services at this time. Gifts of love and friendship may be given to IMPACT, an organization supporting arts and culture in Mt. Pleasant. Born December 19, 1930, at the Burlington Hospital to parents David and Helen Calloway, Mary Catherine was raised on a farm just south of New London, IA. She graduated from New London High School in 1949.Mary loved art, music, traveling, reading, keeping informed, crossword puzzles and a good joke. She extensively researched and traveled to many places within and outside of Iowa including the pyramids of Mexico.Surviving Mary are two sons, David and Michael; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Marjorie; brother Jimmy; and one daughter Shelly Ann.
