Williamsburg-Mary Carolyn Brown was born January 21, 1945 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Robert Dale and Elizabeth Ann (Eichler) Herring. She grew up in Iowa City, graduating from City High School in 1963. Mary was united in marriage to Douglas Wayne Brown on June 18 1965 in Iowa City. The couple moved to Williamsburg in 1972. Mary had numerous jobs around the area. She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Williamsburg and a founding member of the Iowa City Society of Model Railroad Engineers. She also was a parent to the students of Mule Barn Theater from 1984-1988. Mary died Friday, December 14, 2012 at Colonial Manor in Amana at the age of 67 years. She is survived by her husband Douglas and a son Jerry both of Williamsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Harvest Baptist Church in Williamsburg.
