Mary Ann Ochs passed away February 17, 2008, at Kavanagh House on 56th Street. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM, Friday, February 22, 2008, at United Church of Faith in Keota, Iowa, with burial following at the Keota Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11 AM, Friday until service time at the church. Mary Ann was born March 21, 1937, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Gerald M. and Mabel (Valenta) Ochs. She was raised in Keota, Iowa, and was a graduate of Keota High School in 1954. Mary Ann graduated from Stephens College and the University of Iowa. She taught in Rockwell, Garner and Tipton and retired after teaching 32 years at East High School in Des Moines. Mary Ann was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, P.E.O. Chapter GH, Delta Kappa Gamma and the University of Iowa Alumni Association. She enjoyed being with friends, pet sitting, spectator sports (especially the Iowa Hawkeyes), golf and traveling. Mary Ann was a true animal lover. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her mother, Mabel Ochs, of Keota, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Animal Lifeline of Iowa, P.O.
