Marvin D. Waline, age 77, of Brooklyn, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Brooklyn Community Estate, Brooklyn. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2022 at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Guernsey Cemetery, Guernsey. Memorials may be contributed to the family in Marvin’s name.
Marvin is survived by his two daughters, Kathy (Dustin) Langreck, of Tiffin and Jane Waline, of Victor; and a granddaughter Emily. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Anna Waline, his wife Sylvia in 2012, and a brother Richard Waline.
Marvin Dale Waline was born September 13, 1944 in Grinnell, the son of Fred and Anna (Arnold) Waline. He attended school in Guernsey and graduated from BGM High School. Marvin enlisted in the U. S. Airforce in August of 1965 and served in Vietnam. Marvin was united in marriage to Sylvia M. Ranfeld at the Little Brown Church, in Nashua, on May 23, 1970. He worked at Amana Refrigeration, in Amana, for 43 years until his retirement in 2006. Marvin participated in the Honor Flight in 2019. He was a member of the Brooklyn American Legion Post #294 for almost 50 years. Marvin enjoyed cars, traveling, having dinners out, spending time with family and friends, gardening and mowing.
