Marty Joy Barnes

Wellman- Marty Joy Barnes was born March 10, 1965 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Dennis J. and Selena (Adams) Barnes. HE graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 1983. He worked at the Kalona Cheese Factory for many years. He loved hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and the outdoors. Marty passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 after a long battle with cancer at the age of 52 years.

Marty is survived by his son Jesse (Monica) Barnes and granddaughter Katelynn of Mt. Pleasant; his mother Selena Barnes of Wellman; 3 siblings: Del (Fritz) Frederick of North English; Mace Barnes of Olds and Holly (Jeff) Hamelton of Washington; 3 nieces, 3 nephews, 7 great nieces and nephews; uncle Dan Gascho of Wellman and his beloved dog JoJo. He was preceded in death by his wife Jackie, his father Dennis, grandparents, and a infant brother.
