Martha Jane Molander

Martha Jane Molander, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Thursday, January 20, 2011, at the Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends at a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, January 24, 2011 at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the Henry County Animal Rescue Organization and Hospice of Central Iowa. Born June 16, 1917, in Mt. Pleasant, she was the daughter of Ethiel and Jessica (Saunders) Greer. She was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. On March 19, 1935, she married Harlan W. Molander in Aurora, IL. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2009. Mrs. Molander was a homemaker devoting her time to her family. She was an accomplished artist with an interest in painting and an avid reader. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two sons, Gary "Pete" Molander of Burlington, IA, and Curt Molander of Charlottesville, VA; two daughters, Janet (Keith) Lamm and Linda (Sam) Roberts all of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Along with her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and two brothers.
