Marjorie Nebel

Marjorie J. Nebel, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died, Monday, December 14, 2009, at the Pleasant Manor Care Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel with Pastor Kendall Adams of the Burlington Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. service time on Saturday morning. Memorials have been established to Best Friends Animal Society. Born November 7, 1931 in Henry County, IA, Marjorie Jane was the daughter of Earl and Velma (Smith) Rich. On May 18, 1950, she married Vernon Dean Nebel. He preceded her in death in July 1976. In 1980 she married Dale Barnett. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2007 Marjorie graduated from Olds High School in 1950. At one time, Marjorie worked as a waitress. Mostly she worked as a secretary and bookkeeper at Iowa Wesleyan College, the admitting office of the X-Ray Department at Henry County Health Center, and later worked as a bookkeeper at AD Management. She enjoyed hand crafting, cooking, animals and especially being with her family. Survivors include two daughters, Diana Cohen of Atlanta, GA and Terry Wormley of Lincoln, NE; four grandchildren Rachael Cohen and Rebecca Lang of Atlanta, GA and Kalia and Zachary Wormley of Lincoln, NE; one great-granddaughter Autumn Lang; step children Mike Barnett, Tom Barnett, Lisa Elmore and Mike Stone; and step grandchildren Susan, Amy, Emily, Gearr and Mandy. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and by her husbands.
