KEOTA-Marjorie M. Glider, age 90, of Keota, formerly of Wellman, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at Maplewood Manor in Keota, following a brief illness. Marjorie was born October 28, 1918, near 76 Center in Washington, County, to Alex and Hannah (Pulver) Moody and graduated from Keota High School in 1937. She then attended cosmetology school in Des Moines and worked as a beautician in Des Moines and Iowa City a few years. Marjorie then worked in the telephone office in Iowa City. On June 29, 1963 she married Carl Glider at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Following marriage the couple made their home in Wellman. Marjorie entered Maplewood Manor in 2000. She was a member of the United Church of Faith in Keota and American Legion Auxiliary and was a former member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Wellman. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Carl in 1991; four brothers: Dale, Dwight, Ted and Keith Moody and five sisters: Ethel Meyers, Maude Moyer, Blanche Sparks, Bessie Snyder and Beatrice in infancy. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at the Powell Funeral Home in Keota, with Rev. Dennis Hopes officiating. Burial will be at Wellman Cemetery in Wellman. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for Maplewood Manor or the United Church of Faith.
