WELLMAN - Marjorie Evelyn Crossett was born May 25, 1919 in rural Henry County, Iowa the daughter of Lloyd and Bessie (Hinkle) Loeffler. She graduated from Washington High School. On September 17, 1937 she was united in marriage to Merle Crossett in Washington. They lived in the Wellman community where Marjorie was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dorcas Society, Kountry Quilters, and the Rural Club. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, writing, gardening and quilting. Marjorie died on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Parkview Manor in Wellman at the age of 90 years. Marjorie is survived by six children - Jerry Crossett (Mary Lou) of Fountain Valley, CA; Judy Heyning (Cork) of Spring Hill, TN; Jolaine Junkin (Jim) of Raymore, MO; Terry Crossett (Lila) of White Lake, MI; Carol Malichky (Jim) of Riverside; Tammy Paulson (Bob) of Signal Mountain, TN; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters - Edna Sanders of Iowa City; and Wanda Stannard of Phoenix, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant grandson; 6 brothers - Lawrence, Willard, Dwight, Dale, Carol, Bill; and a sister Helen Crile. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Wellman. Pastor Mark Larson will officiate. Burial will be in the Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. A memorial fund has been established for First Baptist Church, Iowa Hospice and Wellman First Responders.
