Marion Romine

Marion L. Romine, 84, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Arbor Court. Mrs. Romine's body has been cremated. No visitation or memorial services are being planned at this time. Born December 8, 1925, in Rock Island, Illinois, Marion Lucille was the daughter of Clarence Raymond and Helen Leona (Brown) Jacobs. She spent her formative years in Rock Island. Marion worked in various factories and did housekeeping. She loved art and was an accomplished artist. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter in Moline. Her greatest love was spending time with her family. Survivors include two sons, Gene Hughes of Valley Springs, SD, and Alan Romine of Ward, AR; and four grandchildren. Also surviving are six sisters, Dorothy Kall, Betty Davis, Virginia Jenson and Linda Smith, all of Rock Island, IL, Jane Overton of Davenport, IA, and Molly Cummins of Summersville, SC. Marion was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter in infancy; two brothers, Kenneth Jacobs and Danny Jacobs; and by a sister, Shirley Dunbar.
