Marian E. Wohlleber, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Monday, January 07, 2008, at the Sunrise Terrace Care Center in Winfield. Visitation will begin after 12:00 noon on Thursday, January 10, 2008, at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 11, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Nancy Oehler-Love officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery. Memorials have been established to First Presbyterian Church, Alzheimer's Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. Born December 24, 1914, in Syracuse, NY, Marian Eleanor was the daughter of James and May Lincoln Seeber Meager. She was educated in the Syracuse area. On June 8, 1940, she married Fred Wohlleber in New York City. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2006. A homemaker, a wife, and a mother, Marian moved with her husband and children from the Syracuse area to Chicago in 1948 and to Chattanooga in 1960. In 1964, the family moved to Mt. Pleasant, where Marian became active in the community. Marian was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, a founding member of the James Harlan Questers #264, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and was a member of the Cotillion Club. Marian was active in the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and and an HCHC volunteer. She was an avid bridge player who loved playing bridge with several local bridge clubs. Mrs. Wohlleber is survived by one son, Dale Wohlleber and his wife Kristi of Mt. Pleasant, IA; two daughters, Marilyn and her husband Frank Harris of Knoxville, TN and Barbara and her husband Jim Shuptrine of Signal Mountain, TN; six grandchildren, Andrew and Daniel Wohlleber, James and Steven Harris, and Scott and Tony Davis; and eleven great-grandchildren. Along with her loving husband of sixty-six years, Mrs. Wohlleber was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Carol Wohlleber Wonderlich; two sisters, Ruth Gilbert and Gladys Gordon; one brother, Robert C. Meager; and two grandchildren, Kelly Davis Adams and Jeffrey Allen Wohlleber.
