WILLIAMSBURG-Margaret Molison Shellady was born April 30, 1911 in Story City, Iowa, the daughter of Dr. Robert Crichton and Maude Black Molison. Margaret's early years were in Marshalltown, then her family moved to Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from High School in Cleveland, Ohio, received her B.A. at Baldwin Wallace in Berea, Ohio and later attended the University of Iowa for Library Science so Williamsburg High School could become accredited by the (NCA). Margaret was school teacher for 20 years, teaching in Norwalk, Tipton, Richland and Williamsburg communities, retiring in 1961. Margaret was united in marriage to Roy Charles Shellady on August 8, 1960 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The couple made their home in Williamsburg in 1972 her husband Roy died March 6, 1989. Margaret was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Women's Federation Club, Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary and the 76ers Garden Club. Margaret moved to Jacksonville Florida in1999 to be close to her family. Margaret died Sunday, January 8, 2006 at the Westminster Woods Retirement Home in Jacksonville after a brief illness at the age of 94 years. Margaret is survived by a step son-in-law: Richard DeJong, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida; six step grandchildren: Linda Webb of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Pamela DeJong, Cindy Graham, Susan Kelly, Renee Morrell and Richard DeJong III all of Jacksonville, Florida; 12 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step daughter: Marlene DeJong and two brothers who died at birth before Margaret was born. Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2006 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Williamsburg. Rev. James Parks will officiate. Burial will be 2:00 pm at the Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown. Visitation will be Friday, January 13, 2006 at Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service from 3 to 6:00 pm.
