Margaret “Marge” D. Knapp, age 81, of Marengo, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 14, 2022 at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo with Pastor Anni Thorn officiating. Burial will be in the Marengo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. A memorial fund has been established.
Marge is survived by her three children, Edward Knapp (Kathy Kurth), of Marengo, Mary (Randy) Mohlis, of Sumner and David (Heidi) Knapp, of Marengo; four grandchildren, Larry Baugh (Dustin Borseth), of Dewar, Conner Knapp (Awnika Hall), of Marengo, Caden Knapp, of Marengo, and Nicholas Lacher, of Sumner; a sister Rosemary Pope, of Marengo; and a special Grandpup, Oakley. She was preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Mary Owens, her husband Louis in 2018, a son Tom in 1980, and two brothers Hugh and Robert Owens.
Margaret Delle Owens was born March 29, 1940, in Williamsburg, the daughter of Hugh and Mary (Briney) Owens. She graduated in 1958 from Williamsburg High School. Marge was united in marriage to Louis Knapp, Jr., on July 1, 1961 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, in Marengo. Over the years, Marge was employed at the Homestead Sandwich Shop, South Amana Bakery, Pioneer Seed Co., Colonial Manor Nursing Home, but her most important job was being a homemaker. Marge enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafting, baking and gardening. She loved to play bingo and going to the casino. Marge especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
