Oxford-Margaret Mary Baack was born December 12, 1920 near Marengo, Iowa the daughter of Fritz and Armina (Schmutz) Maeder. She attended rural school. She was united in marriage to Walter William Henry Baack on September 15, 1946 in Luzerne, Iowa. She was a long time residents of Iowa County. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Williamsburg. Margaret died Monday, December 27,2010 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 90 years. She is survived by her husband Walter Baack; a daughter: RoxAnn (Robert) Hiam of Castle Rock, Colorado, a sister: Helen Nidey of Williamsburg, 2 grandchildren: Paul Hiam and Carissa Hiam, sister-in-law: Leona Baack of Marengo and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant grandchild, a sister Martha Maeder and a brother Sgt. Albert Maeder Celebration of life will be 10:30 Friday, December 31, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church near Williamsburg. Pastor Richard Meyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
