Margaret Ann Edmundson, age 84, died Saturday, December 9, 2006 at her daughters home in Cedar Rapids, IA, following a long illness. A celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English, IA. Pastor Richard Smith will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until service time on Wednesday. Burial will be in Sixteen Cemetery, near Thornburg. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com under obituaries. Margaret Ann Edmundson was born on January 4, 1922 in New Sharon, IA, the daughter of Jay and Vina May Woods Latcham. She graduated from Gibson High School and attended Ottumwa School of Cosmetology. She married Leroy Edmundson and they were later divorced. Margaret operated a beauty shop for a number of years in What Cheer and Thornburg, She also worked as a school cook at Tri-County School in Thornburg and most recently worked until her retirement at the University of Iowa as a housekeeping supervisor. Margaret was a member of the Thornburg United Methodist Church. She lived a number of years in Victor before moving in with her daughter Linda. She loved her flowers, gardening and her grandchildren. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Atlanta Braves fan. Margaret died following a long illness at the daughters home in Cedar Rapids on Saturday, December 9, 2006 at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 5 days. She is survived by daughters Linda Zeeb of Cedar Rapids, IA and Brenda (Jim) Colby of Ankeney, IA; 7 grandchildren: Scott Edmundson, Stacy Rook, Shea Rook, Hope Exline, Jason McBeth, Todd & Mike Colby; 13 great grandchildren; and a sister Evelyn Moore of Brooklyn, IA. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Peggy Gorsch, a grand daughter Michelle McBeth, brothers J.W., Russell, Delmar & Reynolds Latcham and a sister Vesta Jean Putman.
