Williamsburg- Marcella Lucille Doehrmann was born July 20, 1938 near Homestead, Iowa. The daughter of Herbert Henry and Berniece Caroline (Hinrichs) Maas. Marcella was baptized in 1938 and confirmed in 1952 at St. John Lutheran Church near Homestead. She has lived in the Homestead and Williamsburg communities all of her life. She graduated from Williamsburg High School. Marcella was united in marriage to Allan Herman Doehrmann on August 15, 1958 at St. John Lutheran Church near Homestead. To this union they were blessed with six children. Marcella was a loving mother to her children and helped on the family farm while her children were growing up. She later worked as a cook at Lutheran Interparish School, Ed's TV and the Dansk Store. She was a active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, singing in the choir, Women's Guild and the LWML. She was also active in the Sweet Adeline's, the Red Hats and in earlier years the PTL at the Lutheran Interparish School and the Hilltoppers. Marcella enjoyed spending time with friends, gardening and loved family picnics and gatherings.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years Allan; six children: Doug (Charlene) Doehrmann, Roger (Ann) Doehrmann all of Williamsburg, Vicky (John) Coyne of Verona, WI, Karen (Dave) Stadtmueller of Cedar Rapids, Kenton (Kim) Doehrmann and Brad (Dawn) Doehrmann all of Williamsburg; 18 grandchildren; a great grandchild; a sister: Lois (Lee) Bair of Winterset and a brother: Marvin (Sharon) Maas of Williamsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Saturday, February 14, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg with Pastor Tom Ogilvie officiating. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 2:00 to 7:00 pm at the Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg.
