Majorie Parker

Marjorie Parker, 96, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Park Place Elder Living. According to her wishes, Mrs. Parker has been cremated. There will be no visitation or service held. The daughter of J. O. and Hazel Scott Nugent, Marjorie Leona was born on May 17, 1917, in St. Louis, MO. She graduated from high school in Robinson, IL, and then attended the University of Indiana. Marjorie was an executive secretary and worked for corporations in the St. Louis area. Following her work in the corporate world, she ran an ambulance service in Noel, MO for four years. She retired at the age of 62. Marjorie moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1999 to live with her daughter. Marjorie is survived by a daughter, Susan (Charles) Erue of Mt. Pleasant, IA; a son, Richard Williams of High Ridge, MO; a brother Dean Nugent of Napa, CA; and a son-in-law, David Hayes of Nixa, MO. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Along with her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie Hayes, and a brother, Floyd Nugent.
