Lyle Constant Geiger

Lyle Constant Geiger, was born August 22, 1927, near North English, Iowa. He was the son of Constant Cecil & Helen Hope (Roller) Geiger. Lyle graduated from North English High School in 1945, and from the American Institute of Business with a BCS Degree in accounting and Business Administration in 1949. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. On December 17, 1949 Lyle was united in marriage to Alberta Joyce Bresee, at the University Christian Church Chapel, in Des Moines. He started his insurance Career in Chicago in 1949 with The Home Insurance Co. of New York in Des Moines and St. Louis. Lyle later moved back to West Des Moines and became State manager for the Crum & Forster Ins. Group. In 1969 he joined LaMair-Mulock-Condon Ins. Agency as office manager/producer until he purchased a local North English Ins. agency in 1977, which he operated with wife, Joyce, until retirement in August 1997. Lyle was a member of the North English Christian Church, 50 year member of the Waveland Park Masonic Lodge, Des Moines and the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine in Des Moines for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and spending time with friends and family. Lyle died on Monday, September 7, 2015 at his home in Waukee at the age of 88 years.

He is survived by two children: Sheryl (Monte) Ball and Bruce (Melissa) Geiger both of West Des Moines; grandchildren: Curt (Dani) Rogers, Kristin (Matt) McCue and Andrew (Jessica) Boutott; 2 step grandchildren: Katie & Mike Ball; and great grandchildren: Sidney & Mackenzie Rogers, Cora McCue, Liam Boutott and Summer Johnson. He was preceded by his parents, wife Joyce and a brother Merton Geiger.
