Lydia J. Yoder was born January 4, 1910 near Frytown, Iowa the daughter of Jephthah and Mary (Kauffman) Yoder. She moved to Arizona with her family in her youth. She worked in her father's grocery store and butcher shop. She later moved to LaJunta Colorado where she worked in the kitchen and housekeeping department at the LaJunta Hospital for 22 years. Lydia returned to the Wellman community in 1975. She was a member of the Wellman Mennonite Church. Lydia died on Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Parkview Manor in Wellman following a long illness at the age of 98 years. Lydia is survived by a sister Dortha Stutzman of Wellman; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers - Ernest Yoder, Homer Yoder, and a sister Fannie Yoder.
