KALONA- Lydia D. Gingerich Miller, was born September 16, 1917, on the family farm in Johnson County, Iowa. She accepted Christ and was baptized in her youth. Lydia was united in marriage to Harley H. Miller on October 15, 1940. She was a member of the Sharon Bethel Church. Lydia died on Sunday, July 27, 2008, at her home in rural Johnson County. Lydia is survived by 2 sons: Marlin & wife Mary Miller and Nelson & wife Mary Helen Miller of Kalona; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren: Steve & Sheri Miller- Cody, Kendra, Caleb and Cade; Danny & Helen Miller- Lea, Laura, Daniel and Matthew; Brenda & Gary Young- Alyssa and Ashley; Will & Emily Miller - Grace; Randy & Jill Miller; Ben & Monica Miller- Eli & Abi Miller; and Jonathan Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband Harley, 2 brothers: Irvin and Paul Gingerich; and a sister Annie Miller. Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at the Sharon Bethel Church, near Kalona. Ministers in charge will be Delmar Bontrager, Jacob Yoder and Gabriel Beachy. Burial will be in the North Gingerich Cemetery, rural Kalona. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-8 pm, with the family present from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Sharon Bethel Church. Arrangements and Services are by the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Kalona. Memorials are for the Iowa City Hospice.
