Luellen Bentler Krogmeier, 48, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died suddenly Wednesday, June 21, 2006. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2006, beginning after 12 noon, at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant. There will be a rosary recited at 6 p.m. that evening at the Memorial Chapel. The family will greet friends following the rosary. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2006, at 10:00 a.m., at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, with Rev. Nick Adam officiating. Burial will be in the St. Alphonsus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a Luellen Krogmeier Memorial has been established to further her children's education. On line condolences may be sent to www.olsonpowell.com. The daughter of Norbert and Rose Ann Smith Bentler, Luellen was born in Burlington, IA, on April 27, 1958. She was a 1976 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Burlington and a 1978 graduate of Southeastern Community College in Burlington. On October 11, 1980, she married Rodger Krogmeier at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Burlington and moved to Mt. Pleasant. After several years they moved to Lockridge, IA. The couple later divorced. Luellen moved back to Mt. Pleasant in 1998. She was a shift manager at the Mt. Pleasant McDonald's. Spending time with her family and following her children in their activities was Luellen's favorite pastime. She liked playing family games, reading, bowling, and decorating for holidays. She was an Atlanta Braves fan. Luellen is survived by her children, Michelle, Matthew, and Meagan Krogmeier, all of Mt. Pleasant, IA; her parents, Norbert and Rose Ann Bentler of Burlington, IA; a sister, Ann Marie and her husband Fred McElwee of Lockridge, IA; a niece and nephew, Danielle and Grant McElwee. Luellen was preceded in death by her grandparents and a good friend, Steven Upton.
