KEOTA-Lucille Theresa Sieren, age 87, of Keota, passed away Friday, March 18, 2005, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington following a brief illness. Lucille was born May 1, 1917, in Keokuk County, to Nicholas and Josephine (Bohrofen) Heisdorffer. On January 18, 1938 she married Bernard Nicholas Sieren at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in rural Harper. She lived in the Clear Creek community all her life until she moved to Maplewood Manor in Keota. Lucille was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish-Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, crafts, traveling, fishing, playing cards, bingo and dominoes, but most of all cooking and spending time with her family. Survivors include eight children: JoAnn (Robert) Scandridge of North English, Herb (Mary) Sieren of Kirksville, Missouri, Connie (Royce) Hamende of Crete, Illinois, Omer (Bernie) Sieren of Westphalia, Missouri, Sharon (Bob) Robertson of Riverside, Roger (Jacque) Sieren of Sigourney, Bev (Jim) Berg of Kalona and Carol (Jeff) Bermel of Keota; 22 grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 13 step great grandchildren and two sisters: Delores Bombei and Loretta Bombei, both of Keota. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Bernard in May 1973; two brothers: Everett Heisdorffer and Leonard Heisdorffer and two sisters: Viola Weber and LaVera Weber. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2005, at the Holy Trinity Parish-Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in rural Harper with Rev. Marty Goetz officiating. Burial will be at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2005, at the Powell Funeral Home in Keota, where there will be a combined prayer service and rosary at 7:00 p.m. A general memorial fund has been established. Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Keota is handling the arrangements.
