Williamsburg-Lucille Marie Buser was born September 13, 1925 in Middle Amana, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Frieda (Dickel) Trumpold. She grew up in the Amana community and graduated from Amana High School. Lucille was united in marriage to John Julius Buser on April 27, 1953 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. They lived on a farm east of Williamsburg for 33 years, then moved to Williamsburg in 1986, spending the last year at Highland Ridge. She was a homemaker and worked at Williamsburg Care Center for 20 years before retiring at the age of 80. She enjoyed baking, singing and spending time with family. Lucille was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Iburg Poulson VFW Auxiliary Post #8797. Lucille passed away Friday, July 5, 2019 at Colonial Manor in Amana at the age of 93.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Marlene Trumpold, nineteen nieces and nephews, Lynn (Margaret) Trumpold, Betsy (Tim) Momany, Heidi Rupe, Wendy (Gary) Whitt, Roberta Gallbreath, Terry Dains, Jean Schirmer, Julius Buser (Susan Finley), Brenda State, Gary (Krista) Buser, Sherry Carpenter (Dennis Huedephol), Penny Jenn (Lyland Henze), Vicki (Ed) Kasper, Cathy (Ron) Knebel, Randy (Nancy) Lackender, Ronda (John) Beasley, Tammy Schmugge (Rob Ricks), Rick (Kathy) Schindler and Tonya Strasser and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Melvin Trumpold, four nephews, Craig Dains, Robert Carpenter, Bernie Rupe and Ron State and a good friend Marion Edwards.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ron Dose, Dr. Timothy Momany, Essence of Life Hospice, and Colonial Manor for helping to make her final days comfortable.
Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Burial will be at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9: 30 to service time at the church. A memorial fund has been established for St. Paul Lutheran Church.
