Lucille "Lou" M. McClure, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Arbor Court. Visitation will begin after 12:00 noon on Friday, November 16, 2012, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. that evening. A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 17th, at the Trenton Missionary Church, with Pastor Dave Forrester officiating. Interment will be in the White Oak Cemetery. Memorials have been established to White Oak Cemetery and the Trenton Missionary Church. Born October 24, 1926, in Burlington, Iowa, Lucille Marie was the daughter of Claire and Evelyn (Estes) Lessenger. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. On October 1, 1945, she married Robert McClure in Iowa City, IA. Lucille had been employed at Sheaffer Pen Company, Kennedy Dairy, and the Mental Health Institute. She retired from Mt. Pleasant Bank Trust after 16 years working as a teller. A member of the Mt. Pleasant Golf and Country Club, Lucille enjoyed many sports. Favorite hobbies included needlepoint, reading, and playing cards. She took great pride in her cooking and caring for her family. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She attended the Trenton Missionary Church in Trenton, Iowa and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Bob; a son, James (Sara) McClure, of Mt. Pleasant; one daughter, Connie Church, of Moravia, NY; a sister, Pauline Jacobson, of Grand Junction, CO; a brother, Roger (Sadie) Lessenger, of Antlers, OK; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; one daughter, Patti Whitsel; and a son-in-law, William Church.
