Williamsburg- Louis James Siems, was born August 31, 1955, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of Carroll Louis and Leota H. (Collingwood) Siems. He attended the Lutheran Parochial School and Williamsburg High School. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids. He served in the U. S. Army in 1974. He worked at Amana Refrigeration for 24 years, 14 of which he worked in the shipping department. He was a resident of the Williamsburg area most of his life. Louis died Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Marengo Memorial Hospital, in Marengo, after a sudden illness. He lived 52 years, 3 months and 15days. Louis is survived by 8 brothers and sisters: Leora Iburg of Center, Missouri, Loren Siems of Fairfax, Iowa, Lawrence Siems of Sahuarita, Arizona, Lois Miller of Cass Lake, Minnesota, Lesley Siems of Emmett, Idaho, Luella Iberg of Marengo, Iowa, Linda Hiner of Williamsburg, Iowa and Caryol Frericks of Springville, Iowa; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 20, 2007, at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Officiating will be Pastor Edwin Jordan. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 PM at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com under obituaries.
