Lorraine W. Williams, age 88, of rural Williamsburg, died on Thursday December 27, 2012, at the English Valley Care Center in North English. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at the Powell Funeral Home & Cremation Service, North English. Pastor Paul Nus will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30 AM until service time. Burial will be in Golden Rod Cemetery in Deep River. A general memorial fund has been established. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com under obituaries. Lorraine W. Williams was born on June 13, 1924, in Wellsburg, Iowa, a daughter of Henry and Louise Sennen Koch. She was united in marriage to James Richard Williams on November 24, 1946 in Wellsburg. They made their home near Wellsburg, Oskaloosa, back near Wellsburg and Victor before moving to her present home near Williamsburg. She worked for Holden Foundation Seeds, later Montezuma Manufacturing and in her spare time she sold Amway Products. Lorraine was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Millersburg. She was a wonderful cook and loved to tell tales of her family when she was growing up. James preceded her in death in March 2010. Lorraine became a resident of the English Valley Care Center in April 2011. She is survived by a daughter Sharon Williams of North English; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, husband and 10 brothers and sisters.
