Lori Banes

WILLIAMSBURG- Lori Ann Banes was born February 7, 1963, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Garry and Judy (Moorman) Thompson. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School. On September 5, 2001 Lori was united in marriage to Jeffrey Lee Banes in Las Vegas, Nevada. She worked at Farmers Trust and Savings Bank in Williamsburg, WRH in Homestead and Rinderkencht in Cedar Rapids. Lori loved camping, fishing, sitting around a campfire with pokey stick, playing dice and cards with their camping friends, going to garage sales, her critters Baby Girl, Harley Man, Charlie and Nellie, being around family and friends, traveling and camping at various places in the states. Her nurturing soul always made sure people were taken care of and fed. One of Lori’s favorite sayings while fishing was “Anchor Down and Fish On!”  Lori passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at her home in Williamsburg after a long courageous battle with cancer. 

Lori is survived by her husband Jeff of Williamsburg; her son Cole Banes of Marion;  parents, Garry Thompson of Shellsburg and Judy Thompson of Reinbeck; three step children; 10 grandchildren; 3 siblings Babs Thompson of Summerville, SC, Mike (Donna) Thompson of Ionia  and Jason (Jen) Thompson of Janesville; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many close and dear friends.
