SIGOURNEY-Loretto Greene Osweiler, age 89, of Sigourney, formerly of Keswick, died Sunday, September 18, 2005, at the Manor House Care Center in Sigourney. Loretto was born September 4, 1916, near Keswick, to John Patrick and Agnes (McCarville) Greene and graduated from Keswick High School. On January 18, 1940, she married Hubert Osweiler at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Keswick. The couple made their home east of Keswick and later moved into Keswick. Loretto worked in retail in Williamsburg and Sigourney and was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Keswick, where she was the first baby baptized. She was also a member of the Catholic Women's Sodality, including the Diocesan level, and the B Natural Club. Loretto enjoyed working with people and was known for her Irish wit. Survivors include five children: Karyn Diehl and husband John of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mary Louise Snyder and husband Hank of Lutherville, Maryland, Francine Cabonargi of Chicago, Illinois, Deborah Pasquesi of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois and John E. Osweiler and wife Cathy of Dubuque; 10 grandchildren; one great great grandson; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Osweiler, daughter, Patricia Ann Osweiler, son, Andrew Michael Osweiler, three brothers and four sisters. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2005, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sigourney with Rev. Philip Ryan officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sigourney. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. both on Tuesday, September 20, 2005, at the Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel in Sigourney, with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for St. Mary Catholic Church, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or glaucoma research. Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service in Sigourney is handling the arrangements.
