Webster- Lonnie Levi Miller was born October 5, 1939 in Kinross, Iowa, the son of Vernon Levi and Iona Nadine (Kandell) Miller. He graduated from Kinross High School and Heston College. On January 22, 1961 Lonnie was united in marriage to Lois G Baker at the Kinross Christian Church. They lived in Keota for 3 years before moving to their current home near Webster. Lonnie was a life long farmer and also worked at Amana Refrigeration for many years. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, attending the "Liars Club" at the Malt Shop daily and he loved watching his grandchildren's sporting events. Lonnie was full of advice and information when it came to farming and cattle. He was very excited about the future of the farm that had been created and carried on. Lonnie died on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, at the age of 81 years.
He is survived by his three sons Rick Miller of Sigourney, Jeffrey (Julie) Miller of South English and Rodney (Joni) Miller of Webster; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren and one on the way; two brothers Lyle (Lilly) Miller of Iowa City and Lynn (Eloise) Miller of Eugene, Oregon; and a sister Lois (Delmar) Brenneman of Cleveland, Ohio. He was preceded by his parents and his wife Lois.
Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at the English River Church of the Brethren, near South English. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time at the English River Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in the Brethren Cemetery. A general memorial fund has been established.
