Lois Lennstrum -King, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, formerly of Chicago, IL and Florida passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.Born in Chicago on June 12, 1927, Lois was the daughter of Roy and Ebba (Holmquist) Lennstrum. She attended Hirsch High School, graduating in 1944, and attended Knox College in Galesburg, IL. In 1950, she married Robert King in Chicago. The couple later separated. Lois worked in business management. She managed the Howard Johnson Motor Lodge in Park Ridge, IL for many years, and after moving to Coral Gables, FL, served as executive secretary to the director of Miami Children's Hospital.During her high school years Lois did radio work with the Jack and Jill Players and performed book reviews and dramatic readings for women's clubs and churches throughout the Chicago area. She was very artistic and enjoyed ceramics, knitting, and interior design. She also found pleasure traveling throughout the world. Survivors include four cousins, Jack (Betty) Becker of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Jerry Becker of Atlanta, GA, Muriel Lennstrum of Hammond, IN, and Jay Westerdahl of Santa Barbara, CA. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Skokie, IL. Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel assisted the family with the arrangements.
