Williamsburg-Lois Ann Schaefer Randolph was born February 28, 1922 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Arthur George William and Anna Alice (Krahling) Rinderknecht. She was baptized on March 17, 1922 and confirmed on June 20, 1937. She attended Bethany College in Mankato, Minnesota. She taught school at St. John's Parochial School near Homestead for a few years before marriage. Lois was united in marriage to Hilbert Christian Schaefer on June 14, 1946 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Atkins, to this union they were blessed with three children. Hilbert later died November 17, 1983. Lois later married Franklin William Randolph on November 24, 1984. He died in 2004. Lois enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing Solitaire and spending time with her family and friends. She was active in the Republican Party and St. John's Ladies Aid. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church near Homestead.
Lois passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Marengo Memorial Hospital in Marengo at the age of 95 years.
She is survived by a son: William (Robyn) Schaefer of Conroy; two daughters: Bethann (Stan) Teggatz of Cedar Rapids and Mary (Douglas) Fast of Omaha, Nebraska; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a sister: Nina Day of San Jose, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two brothers: Donald and Arthur Rinderknecht.
Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Monday, March 13, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church near Homestead. Pastor Gary Sears will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the church. Memorials are for St. John Lutheran Church or Lutheran Interparish School.
