LoAnn Kay Bontrager

LoAnn Kay Bontrager was born December 8, 1973 in Decatur county near Leon, Iowa, the daughter of Perry and Pauline (Yoder) Bontrager. She was born with cerebral palsy and faced many challenges in life. She attended Central Decatur High School. LoAnn passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at her home in rural Kalona at the age of 42 years.
LoAnn is survived by her parents Perry and Pauline Bontrager of Kalona; 3 sisters and 2 brothers: Iva (Michael) Hunsberger of Westminster, South Carolina; Mary Lou Miller of Kalona; Larry Bontrager of Lexington, Virginia; Lori (Dwight) Schrock of Sharon Center; Lamar (Sarah) Bontrager of Westminster, South Carolina ; and 14 nieces and nephews: Dylan, Adison, Alexis, Leslie, Ellie, Levi, Gentry, Austin, Bryson, Taylor, Nicole, Carson, Blake and Selah. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 17, 2016 at the Sharon Bethel Church in rural Kalona. Ministers in charge are Jacob Yoder, Delmar Bontrager and Moses Yoder, Jr. Burial will be in the Sharon Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-8 PM on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at the Sharon Bethel Church where the family will greet friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A memorial fund has been established for Washington County Hospice. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona is caring for LoAnn and her family.
