Lloyd Leo Schropp

Conroy-Lloyd Leo Schropp was born June 3, 1928 in Johnson Coutny, Iowa. The son of Willie and Tillie (Feyerbend) Schropp. He attended rural school. Lloyd was united in marriage to Mary Colleen Duffy on June 7, 1952 at the St. Joseph Rectory in Parnell. In his early years Lloyd farmed, then drove truck until his retirement, when he then went to work for the Williamsburg Rec Center which he truly enjoyed. Lloyd enjoyed gardening, going to the casino, watching westerns, fishing hunting mushrooms, going to the grandchildren's sporting events and helping his sons with their projects. Lloyd died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 86 years.

He is survived by his wife Colleen of Conroy; six children: Lloyd (Bennie Jo) Schropp of Parnell, Pam (Dale) Walter of Williamsburg, Larry (Patti) Schropp of Parnell, Penny (Troy) Seaver of North Liberty, Paula Schropp of Conroy and John Schropp of Parnell; 17 grandchildren: Kristy Schropp, Chad Schropp, Zachary Schropp, Gary Walter, Angela Wilson, Molly Paugh, Sara Schropp, Jeremy Schropp, Abby Jordan, Quinn Seaver, Jacob Cox, Nicholas Schropp, Leah Schropp, Miranda Albaugh, Lauren Schropp, Jalen Schropp and Lincoln Schropp; 15 great grandchildren; two sisters: Shirley Meade of Holbrook and Patricia Martens of Williamsburg and a brother: Dean (Frances) Schropp of Williamsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Willie Schropp.


Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 am Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Williamsburg.
