Lloyd Lesley (Bud) Montross, age 89, of North English and formerly of Millersburg, died on Sunday, December 18, 2011, at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Iowa City. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at the Millersburg United Methodist Church. Pastor Michelle Williamson will officiate. Burial will be in the Millersburg Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from noon until service time at 1:30 PM at the Millersburg United Methodist Church. Lloyd Lesley (Bud) Montross was born on February 17, 1922, near Millersburg, Iowa, a son of George and Zeulah Cole Montross. He graduated from Millersburg High School and served in the US Army during World War II. Bud was united in marriage to Johanna G. Heynert on February 18, 1960, in Maryville, Missouri. They made their home on farms near Millersburg. Johanna preceded him in death in October 2008. Bud farmed, ran a feed store, and was a partner in a fencing business. He was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. Bud is survived by a daughter Susanna Stouder of Fort. Madison, IA; three grandchildren: Sabrina Brown, Heidi Liegl and Adam Jensen; three great grandchildren: Jacob Straka, Aimee Liegl, and Wyatt Liegl; and a a brother Harold Montross of Madison, Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Johanna, a sister Barbara Bock and a great grandson Michael David Straka.
