Lloyd H. Kroul, age 74, died Thursday, June 23, 2005, after a sudden illness at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, June 25, 2005, at St. John's Lutheran Church near Homestead, IA, with Pastor Wayne Woolery officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Uhlmann-Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg on Friday, June 24, 2005 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. He is survived by his wife Joyce E. Kroul of Amana, IA; daughters: Debra Becker (Kevin) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Denise Harriman (Ron) of Solon, IA; 4 grandchildren: Kyle (Kristin) Becker & Katie Becker all of Cedar Rapids, IA and Geneva and Lydia Harriman both of Solon, IA. Also surviving is a sister Dorothy Freese of Cedar Rapids, IA. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Marian Lumley. Lloyd H. Kroul was born on March 16, 1931 in Lincoln Township, Iowa County, IA, the son of Henry and Anna Meyer Kroul. He graduated from Victor High School and worked at Amana Refrigeration from 1951 until retiring in 1994. Lloyd served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Joyce Elaine Huedepohl in Williamsburg, IA on August 27, 1955. Since their marriage they have lived in Amana. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church near Homestead. He was a loving husband, dad and opa who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
