Lisa Shipman, 44, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Sunday, November 04, 2012, at the Emergency Room of the Henry County Health Center. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 8, 2012, beginning at 3 p.m. at the Faith Christian Outreach Church where the family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. that evening. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9th at Faith Christian Outreach Church with the Pastor Josh Cody officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Forest Home Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Samantha Shipman Education Fund. The daughter of Harry and Rebecca (Scott) Haines, Lisa Michelle was born on December 13, 1967 in Billings, Montana. She attended Park High School in Livingston, Montana and graduated in 1986. She then moved to Mt. Pleasant and received her Associates Degree from Southeastern Community College. She was also certified for Medical Coding and Billing. On June 27, 1987, she married Don Shipman in Danville, Iowa. During their marriage, she was a dedicated military wife. Lisa began working in the office at H. Eugene Smith Construction. She then worked in medical coding and billing in Keosauqua, and for the last 3 years, at Henry County Health Center. She also sold Mary Kay Cosmetics. An avid Panther mom, Lisa would follow her daughter, Samantha, in her school activities, and had served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She was a Past Worthy Advisor for the Order of Rainbow for Girls and belonged to the Office Education Association. Favorite activities included doing needlework, collecting Snoopy and Eeyore memorabilia, and the thrill of a roller coaster ride. She had a deep fondness for chocolate and enjoyed baking. Attending the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion was an annual favorite event. Survivors include one daughter, Samantha Shipman; her parents, Harry and Becky Haines all of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Scott (Carla) Haines of Peoria, IL; her grandmother, Lucille Haines of Las Vegas, NV; her ex-husband and good friend, Don (Stacy) Shipman of Indianapolis, IN; her in-laws, Bud (JoAnn) Shipman of Lincoln, NE; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding Lisa in death are her grandparents.
