Linda Tygart

SIGOURNEY-Linda Sue Tygart of Sigourney passed away on July 24, 2023, at Keokuk County Health Center. 
    Born on August 12, 1944, in Sigourney, Iowa, to Eldon and Margaret (Rexroth) Walther, Linda will be remembered for the love and light she brought to those who knew her.  She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1962, and earned a degree from American Institute of Business (AIB) in Des Moines in 1963. On December 15, 1963, she exchanged vows with Mike Tygart at Sigourney Christian Church, and together they raised two beloved sons. She worked in the administrative office at the Sigourney Hospital for over 30 years, as well as 25 years at the Keokuk County Abstract Company.
    Linda cherished spending time with family and friends, laughing and creating memories. She enjoyed reading, trying new recipes, and trips to the casino. Linda's love for music shone through her talent as an organist, leading family gatherings in joyful song. Annual trips with her granddaughters to the Iowa State Fair and other destinations were a treasured tradition.
    Linda leaves behind her devoted husband of nearly 60 years, Mike, and her beloved sons, Chuck (Willa) of Solon and Shawn (Beth) of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by her five granddaughters: Lindsey (Eric) Brown of North Liberty, Melanie (Dillion Klein) of Coralville, Nicole (Bill) Wilson of Dubuque, Lily (Alonso Amezaga) of North Liberty, and Christine (Dylan Rippel) of Marion; and three great-grandsons.  Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Margaret Walther, and siblings, Wayne Walther and Betty Fischer.

    A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, July 29, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Tygart home at 20261 208th Avenue in Sigourney, allowing friends and loved ones to come together to share fond memories.
