Linda Riley

Linda Jane Graber Riley, 71, a resident of All-American Care in Washington, Iowa, passed away Monday, August 12, 2013. Born January 29, 1942, in rural Mt. Pleasant, Linda was the daughter of Jacob E. and Helen Ruth (Miller) Graber. She attended Prospect Country School, Wayland Junior High, and graduated from Wayland High School in 1960. After graduation she attended a nurses aid course through Henry County Health Center. A life-long homemaker, Linda also worked at Buffs Truck Stop and Golden Dragon Restaurant. She volunteered her time with the Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Republican Party, and played her keyboard for several nursing homes as well as the country church at Old Threshers for many years. Linda is a member of the Wayland Mennonite Church. Survivors include a son, Marvin Riley, of Burlington, Iowa; a daughter, Candy Riley, of Winfield, Iowa; two sisters, Carol (James) Baughman, of Pulaski, Iowa; and Karen Graber and Barb Turner of Des Moines, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Doreen Graber, of Morton, Illinois; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding Linda in death are her parents, her brother, Harold in 2013 and by a niece, Marta Graber. According to Lindas wishes, her body has been donated to the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospital for research. Memorials in her name may be sent to Wayland Mennonite Church, 104 W. 2nd Street, Wayland 52654 or to the Washington County Hospice. Please designate for either Washington County Hospice or Wayland Mennonite Church. No memorial service is being planned at this time.
